We embed sustainability principles in every design. **Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Structural Project Engineer for immediate employment in the Colorado Springs, CO office. The incumbent can look forward to working on their own project and projects with the team depending on the size of the project. The opportunity involves interaction with clients. The incumbent can look forward to projects including: + New building design and analysis for a variety of building types, including Federal, DOD, Commercial, and Retail + Design of water and waste-water pump stations, treatment plants, and drainage structures + Retaining wall design, noise wall design and metal building foundation design + Structural analysis and evaluation of existing structures The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Provide structural design advice and assistance regarding site selection, design, drawings, and specifications + Provide a wide range of professional structural engineering services and technical consultation for the delivery of safe, secure, and fully functional facilities + Apply accepted conventional design methods and solutions + Apply the latest design methodologies and theories to novel problem solving situations not readily resolved through accepted conventional methods + Contribute and affect the content, interpretation, or development of design policies concerning varied design and construction projects **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree or higher from 4 year ABET accredited Engineering program with emphasis on structural engineering + A Master’s Degree in structural engineering may substitute for one (1) year of experience + 2+ years of professional experience with a structural engineering consultant company + Experience and knowledge of structural design with different materials (steel, concrete, and masonry) for both building and non-building applications + Field experience with observing construction progress and capable of providing construction administration services + Experience with foundations and earth retention structures + Diverse knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices + Must have the ability to apply general structural engineering mechanics and material properties in unique engineering solutions + Knowledge in the use of appropriate codes and standards which govern the design of structural systems including but not limited to the IBC, ASCE 7, AISC and ACI codes + Experience and knowledge of structural design software such as Mathcad, Excel, Visual Analysis, Staad.Pro, and Enercalc + Experience and knowledge of structural CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit + Field experience with observing construction progress and capable of providing construction administration services and experience performing Facility Condition Assessments + Experience coordinating work with Civil, Architectural, and MEP disciplines and familiarity with terminology used by these disciplines + Strong writing, verbal and graphic communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications + Must possess a valid driver's license + Ability to effectively organize tasks and work independently + Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required **Preferred Qualifications** + Licensed as a Professional Engineer + BIM experience preferably with Revit software + Project management skills with tracking budgets and interfacing with clients **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
